קורס זה מקנה את הבסיס המקיף שכל יוצר קרמיקה צריך תוך למידה מעמיקה והתנסות בטכניקות הבסיסיות: פינצ'ינג - יצירה ישירה מגוש חמר, חוליות עגולות ושטוחות - בניית נפחים ומבנים, גריעה מגוש - פיסול בשיטת החיסור, עבודה במשטחים - טכניקות מתקדמות לעיצוב. לאורך כל התהליך נשלב עבודת טקסטורה וצבע. הקורס מיועד למתחילים ולמתקדמים. Hand-Building Ceramics Course 8 weekly sessions | Once a week | 2 hours and 15 minutes Course Description This hand-building ceramics course combines structured instruction with personal creative freedom. Each session begins with a short demonstration of a specific technique, followed by guided hands-on work where students develop their own projects. The course is suitable for beginners as well as for students with previous experience who wish to deepen their skills, refine their technique, and develop a personal visual language in clay. Class Structure Each class includes: • A 20–30 minute demonstration and inspiration segment • Independent hands-on work • Personal guidance, feedback, and technical support • Preparing work for drying, firing, and glazing Weekly Program Week 1 – Introduction and Connecting with the Material Studio tour, introduction to tools, clay types, safety, and studio policies. Introduction to pinch techniques for creating small bowls and vessels. Week 2 – Slab Building Demonstration of slab preparation, joining methods, and preventing cracks. Creating functional and decorative forms such as trays, bowls, boxes, or tiles. Week 3 – Coil Building Learning coil construction, proper joining, and smoothing techniques. Creating deeper or taller forms such as planters, storage vessels, or sculptural pieces. Week 4 – Form, Proportion, and Finishing Refining shapes, achieving even wall thickness, and improving structural stability. Trimming, refining bases, and preparing pieces for firing. Week 5 – Texture, Surface, and Personal Style Exploring texture, stamping, carving, and surface decoration. Developing a personal approach and integrating decorative elements into functional forms. Week 6 – Preparing for Glazing and Color Design Selecting works for firing. Introduction to glazes, color combinations, and planning the final look of each piece. Week 7 – Glazing Glazing fired works. Learning basic glazing techniques including dipping, pouring, brushing, and cleaning foot rings. Week 8 – Wrap-Up, Creative Games, and Potluck Creative challenges, group reflection, and review of
